Fishing-Net Material Review for Tanzania
Before discussing nyavu za kuvulia samaki, identify whether the destination and intended use are in Tanzania Mainland or Zanzibar. The jurisdiction, water body, buyer licence, material/filament construction and mesh must be known before a supply quotation can proceed.
Mainland and Zanzibar cannot be merged into one assumption
A buyer should state the exact jurisdiction, port and water body at the beginning. Zanzibar has its own legal and administrative context, and this page does not infer that a product restricted on the Mainland is permitted elsewhere. If the jurisdiction or legal basis is unclear, the request remains at the information-review stage.
Waagizaji na wasambazaji
Importers and distributors should provide company, consignee, port, intended product stage, approved material and the official or professional basis used for procurement.
Vyama vya wavuvi / cooperatives
Fishing groups should identify the responsible licence holder, water body, mesh rule and destination. A group order is not treated as a substitute for legal verification.
Wauzaji wa vifaa vya uvuvi
Fishing-supply dealers may submit measured accessory or lawful netting requests. “Vifaa vya uvuvi” is broad, so each float, rope or sinker is a separate line item.

Accessory and netting inquiries
Floats, fishing-net ropes and lead sinkers can be discussed by measured dimensions, construction, unit mass and quantity. Netting panels require loose panel dimensions, mesh method, netting-line specification, edge treatment and documented material. This does not mean that every component or panel is permitted for fishing; the importer must establish the lawful intended use.

“Tunaomba mapitio ya vipimo vya nyavu/vifaa vya uvuvi kwa matumizi yaliyoruhusiwa Tanzania Mainland (au Zanzibar).” Then add the English technical schedule: jurisdiction, water body, material/filament, mesh and method, product stage, dimensions, components, quantity, licence context and destination. The bilingual line helps routing; the measurable schedule controls the quote.
Commercial reference after approval
For a lawful and verifiable made-up-net specification, finished-net MOQ would normally be 100 pieces per specification and typical production planning about 15–25 days. Panel/accessory MOQ is separate. No schedule or price is issued for a prohibited or inadequately documented Mainland monofilament request.
Tanzania buyer FAQ
Can the supplier decide whether my net is legal?
No. We can screen the inquiry and decline restricted or unverified requests, but legality and licences must be confirmed by Tanzania’s competent authority or qualified local adviser.
Does “nyavu za uvuvi” identify the structure?
No. It is a broad phrase. Add wall count, sinking/floating edge, material, mesh, line, size and component data.
Decline criteria for Mainland requests
A monofilament fishing-net request is declined. An inquiry is paused when material is unverified, jurisdiction is missing, the intended fishing use is unclear or the buyer asks us to infer legality from a photograph. Accessories or netting are not automatically accepted merely because they are not a complete net; their intended use and current rules still require buyer verification.
